Extension of corona support measures covering Q3 2021 announced

The Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Policy published the outlines of the extended corona support measures for Q3 2021 on 27 May 2021. It is proposed to sunset the corona support measures after Q3 2021 allowing companies to prepare their businesses. We included the key items of the 27 May-publication in the overview below. Reimbursement Fixed Costs Scheme for SMEs and self-employed professionals (TVL)

  • Extension: TVL Q3 2021 follows TVL Q2 2021
  • Maximum reimbursement percentage: 100%
  • Reference month: either Q3 2019 or Q3 2020

Temporary Emergency Bridging Measure of Sustained Employment (NOW)

  • Extension: NOW 4 (1 July – 30 September 2021) follows NOW 3
  • Maximum reimbursement percentage: 85%
  • Reference month: February 2021 instead of June 2020
  • The TVL subsidy will be no longer recognized as turnover for the NOW subsidy scheme as of NOW 3 (effectively increasing the overall subsidy).

Temporary bridging measure for self-employed professionals (Tozo)

  • Extension until 1 October 2021 (Tozo 5)

Taxation

  • Extension until 1 October 2021 including
  • Agreements with Germany and Belgium on Treaty application
  • Tax deferment:
    - Payment of arising tax liabilities as per 1 July 2021 (no change made);
    - Repayment as of 1 October 2022 (opposed to 1 October 2021);
    - Payment term of 60 months (opposed to 36 months);
    - Tax collection interest 1% as per 1 January 2022 (currently 0.01%) and step-by-step increase to 4% as per 1 January 2024.
